Baked crispy kale recipe

  • 400g kale
  • 1 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 1 tsp Chinese five-spice
  • 1 tbsp light brown soft sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds


  1. Preheat the oven to gas 6, 200°C, and fan 180°C.
  2. Spread the kale on two baking trays and drizzle with the oil.
  3. Scrunch it with your hands to distribute the oil.
  4. Mix the five-spice, sugar, and sesame seeds and sprinkle over the kale, then roast for 7 mins.
  5. Toss well, then roast for 5 mins until crispy.
