Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
2/3 cup milk
1 egg
1 tablespoon heavy cream
4 cups sliced strawberries
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the cold cubed butter to the dry ingredients and use a pastry blender or your hands to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a separate small mixing bowl, whisk together the milk and egg.
- Add the milk mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
